The reason for this website is simple, Gary Murray and Jake Vigoda, the owners of Destination Air have ripped me off for 325,000 Thai Baht (about $10,000 USD)
I worked for them from Sept 2006 until July 2008. I was a salaried employee who gave 6 months notice of my departure, hired my replacement for them and left without prejudice. I gave them a break of 185,000 Baht if they would sign an amendment to my contract saying that I would be paid on July 31st 2008 instead of waiting until August to get my money as I was leaving the country.
A very long story short.... THEY HAVE NOT PAID ME AND I AM PISSED OFF BECAUSE I WORKED VERY HARD FOR THEM AND WAS FAITHFUL TO THE COMPANY WHEN COUNTLESS OTHERS ABANDONED THEM.

Fight, fight, fight the crooks
Scott I know Pat and hope you will fight on. Sue them in the labor court and criminal court. Also tell all the other fine staff that I know especially locals to do so too. These two just came to Thailand for money and girls. Look Jake cleaned out his Hong Kong bank accounts and left his wife and daughter high and dry. She confronted him and he called the police on her. Some day, someone doing this way will pay the big price. From that Hong Kong account Jake can join Gary who started out before. Some day, these two will fight because Gary will realize that Jake has nothing to offer and is just a taker. Yes he can contribute idea about how to cheat people, like not pay employees and not refund tickets, but he is a greedy fucker. Jake must go back to his wife and daughter he is legally married to and say goodbye to Jib and the other staff one nighters.
What is happening with DP?
It is not just you and two girls who have been cheated. Look around you Scott and look at all the victims of these two and their way of making money by taking out of other people pockets.
You will get your money back yes.
But do not led the campaign stop against these two. Jake become Thai citizen now so he big power.

Update September 2010
Sadly, I have not yet been paid the money that I am owed. Jake and Gary both refuse to communicate with me. They now are trying to play hide and seek with the assets.. the 2 aircraft that were operated by DA. Unfortunately for them, we are all wise to what they are up to and the planes will not leave Don Muang until myself, and the other two girls get paid.Frankie got what he worked for thanks to his very resourceful wife. He was kind enough to share his tactics with us. Lets hope all goes well with the court case in October.

More of the story
This is indeed the same Gary Murray that owns the Hilton in Hua Hin. I was told that is the "cash cow" that funded all of the other ventures.
With regards to the email about "confidential"... this was sent to me via Blackberry, 5 minutes after walking out on a situation where Pat James and I literally cornered Gary in the airport in December 2007 as he was waiting to catch a flight. I had showed concern to him that there didn't seem to be enough revenue to meet the obligations and that Pat was telling me we were in danger of not meeting payroll. I asked him straight out if DP (Destination Properties, the parent company) was going to make up any difference. He looked at me and said " I'm not an ATM, I am a businessman, an investor in this company". I stood up and walked out, leaving Pat there to get the scolding of his life from Gary for "allowing" me to get access to him to ask these questions. He then sent that email to keep me from quitting outright as I was the only pilot on staff.
Fast forward to Jan 2009... After 6 months of waiting and asking nicely for my money, I called Gary to ask him directly when I would be paid. He said simply to "ask Pat" and hung up. I then sent him an SMS, in haste, saying that it semed what people were saying about him was true, that he was a con man who didn't live up to his obligations. The next email to him got this response whereby he completely washed his hand of me and has evaded me ever since...
Scott, wow, after your last nasty/rude comments about me, I am surprised that you would ever have the nerve to contact me again. Please do not ever copy me on your emails, I have no interest to ever communicate with you again. Good riddons.

Can't believe how bad you are jib and jake. I thought you are good persons, however, lucky me to know that both of you are bad people.

How dare you invited us to go to that fake wedding party? I don't want to be a part of your lying. Now I can see the reason why there were more than 20 security gaurds at your party. Any way a guy you tried to steal is a very very bad guy as jake snake. Is it worth you to do that? Yes, you think he's really rich as you talk big to me all the times that he owns many hotels on the beach. You're very pround to be the owner of those hotels. Now I found out that his wealth is getting from cheating people around him as his staff's payroll, over 100 contractors and suppliers for hotel renovation and even from his wife and daughter's personal properties. i am owed $25,000 and not paid for 2 years
Gary Murray and Jake the snake have ripped me off $25,000. i did work for them and the bill remains unpiad. I have written it off. If you do work for them just make sure you are paid upfront.
They also own the courtyard Marriott hotels in Phuket

Screwing your staff
This chap Jake certainly seems to be the low end of the low. For a "boss" to be screwing his staff and then firing them is just an abuse of power. it's pure and simple.
He takes some poor Thai girl who thinks this will lead to a better or more stable position, sleeps with her even though she's trying not to vomit each time, and then dumps her whilst booting her out the company.
Jake Vigoda...is this his real name ?
Clearly this chap doesn't know how to behave and wouldn't last a second in his home country with behaviour like this. He sounds like a great role model for his daughter.
By the way, I noticed the email you said was from a Gary Murray: "Pls keep this confidential as I want the DA team to pull together to drive
this business. Gary"
This is a tactic used to make you think you are getting special treatment. It shuts you up, makes you feel secure and then they screw you.
Is this the same Gary that owns Hilton Hua Hin ?

Pat James
Mate, Pat James is as Slimey as Gary and Jake ( Jake the snake ). He gets told he won't get paid like the others, gets laid off like the others, but in the background is still very much in the game AND getting paid.
to your face he's all "DA is shte", "Gary & Jake are shite" but he's just playing the game and making good money by doing it; whilst everyone else suffers.
